HBCU students always look forward for Homecoming season. They described it as a “family reunion” that promotes community, solidarity, and Black achievement by bringing together multiple generations of students and graduates. But one of the main important things for homecoming is your outfit.
Fashion is really important at HBCU’s, especially around homecoming season. Everyone puts on their best outfits that entire week. The best events where people put their best outfits on are at the football game, the concert & mainly yardfest.
Yardfest is really important in HBCU culture, it’s known for bringing generations together to celebrate the final day of homecoming. But it’s also the day when everyone puts on their best outfit.
I always look forward to people’s outfits that day, seeing everyone’s different style. Lincoln has some of the best stylish people on campus but it never gets really talked about enough.
That’s why I wanted to showcase people’s outfits during homecoming season.
