Power Returns…In New Jersey

Lincoln University, PA—Power Returns, and this time it’s close to home. Few television franchises in the past decade have built the kind of loyal following that Power has. What started as a gritty crime drama quickly became a cultural staple, creating multiple spinoffs and a fan base that treats every new installment like a major event. Now, with another chapter of the series on the way, anticipation is building once again.

Part of that excitement comes from a fun detail for some viewers. Scenes for the upcoming project are reportedly being filmed in East Orange, New Jersey. For residents of the area, it’s a small but exciting connection to a show that has grown into one of television’s most recognizable crime franchises. Seeing familiar streets potentially appear in a major series adds a sense of local pride to the hype surrounding the production.

Of course, the Power universe is closely tied to 50 Cent, who helped develop the original show and played one of its most memorable characters. The rapper and producer has recently stayed in the spotlight due to ongoing entertainment industry drama and social media disputes, something that seems to follow him almost as consistently as the success of his projects. Even so, his involvement continues to keep fans paying attention to anything connected to the series.

What has always made Power successful is its storytelling. Since its debut in 2014, the show has built a reputation for intense plots, complicated characters, and dramatic twists that keep viewers invested. The original series opened the door to several spinoffs, allowing the story to expand while maintaining the same gritty tone that made it popular in the first place.

Now, as a new installment approaches, fans are once again speculating about what’s next. For viewers in East Orange, especially, the anticipation carries an extra level of excitement.

It’s not every day that a major television series films in your hometown—and if the history of Power proves anything, it’s that wherever the story goes, people will be watching.
