NCAA Tournament Never Disappoints
This March Madness, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is capturing the attention of fans across the country once again with the unpredictable outcomes and the buzzer beaters. From the opening rounds, some lower teams have been making their way through the battles. Several underdogs stunned many by upsetting the top-ranked teams in the country.
So, why do people from the U.S. love March Madness? It’s the desire to create brackets, which is one of the most chaotic analyses to ever be done. Many players are projected to be first-round picks in the NBA draft, guards with lots of talent, and big men controlling the paint. Fans aren’t just watching the games for entertainment, but they’re also watching the next big future ahead of us.
Who will come out on top? Who will be the one to cut the net off the basket?
Another special moment of March Madness is the single-game elimination, Cinderella runs, and the end of a team’s championship dreams. The tournament broadcast raw talent, and for a month straight, it’s about the excitement of these athletes putting their heart out all into it. And as the sweet 16 comes around, there will be a lot of upsets and a lot of Cinderella stories that could make it to the final four.
She May Never Come Back
But for the second consecutive year, no mid-major teams made it to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournaments.
In 2010, the Butler Bulldogs gave Duke a run for the money in the championship game, only losing after a missed shot by Gordon Hayward—the ball bounced off the rim while time was running out. In 2013 and 2014, Wichita State was the new powerhouse, with appearances in the final four and securing the number one spot in the bracket.
Then, three years ago, the Florida Atlantic Owls had the greatest run in program history to the final four. For many years, watching the men’s tournament was exciting. Smaller schools that nobody ever heard of make a huge run in March Madness, but for the second time this year, neither school from mid-major conferences has made it to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournaments.
Could it be that Cinderella’s foot no longer fits in the glass slipper?
People across the world will have their faces glued to the TV, sports bars, and social media feeds, as nobody wants to miss the exciting moments.
March Madness isn’t just a bracket tournament, but it’s a month full of celebration, motivation, and competitiveness. And after this year, there could not be a moment to remember for years. So, if you want to ask me, yes, March Madness is the best time of the year.
