Jaleesa Lanier is a 5’4 guard from Easton, Pennsylvania. She attended Bethlehem Catholic School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she played and won four district titles. Lanier was a key factor in Lincoln University winning its first-ever basketball Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship. She averaged 6.5 points per game, 2.7 assists per game, and shot 65.7% from the free throw line. Lanier also obtained 86 steals in just TWO seasons here at Lincoln.
Off the court, Lanier majors in business management, and plans on using her degree to work in corporate America and eventually become a chief financial officer (CFO) of a company. She aspires to give back to her community and inspire other African American girls as well. A regular day for Lanier on campus consists of going to classes, and always including a workout throughout her daily routine. She balances out all her responsibilities by creating reminders, lists, and planning things out. Doing these things allow Lanier to time manage properly. Some hobbies include playing basketball, binge-watching shows, shopping, and doing yoga and/or meditating. One of the many challenges Lanier faces in basketball is the fact that she is undersized. However, being undersized does not hinder her drive to compete. She says that her sense of confidence, faith in God, family, and teammates are key factors that motivate her especially when in the face of adversity.
