Meet Professor Haywood, a fellow HBCU graduate who loves to take the chance to give back to the world’s future leaders. During Haywood’s undergrad career she obtained a dual degree at State University of New York Old Westbury where she majored in American Studies and Mass Communications. Haywood then went to take her education to the next level at Norfolk State University where she received her masters in education. She loves everything that Lincoln has to offer and wants to be apart of the future building blocks to take the University to the next level.
Dr. House is one of the newest members of the Department of Mass Communications family. She received an undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Education with TESOL from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. House worked as a radio news reporter for an NBC affiliate in Las Vegas. She continued her journey for higher education at Howard University ultimately obtaining her PHD. Dr.House has been teaching for over 15 years starting with middle school students and within the past six years she began teaching at a college level. When asked why she choose to come to Lincoln she simply replied “Why not Lincoln?” .
Brian Bernas the new media center audio/video production teacher. Before Brain started working at Lincoln he worked in Media production for 12 years. His past experiences are in designing custom audio/video systems, working on theatrical stage productions, Tv Shows, Concerts, and short films. Brain well versed background geared him to take on the dynamic environment that he found at Lincoln. His favorite experience he has so far working at Lincoln is that he has had the opportunity to pass on his experiences to the current student body.
Meet Professor Brandi Berry shortly after her matriculation in undergrad for theater at North Carolina state university she went to study film at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her Masters of Fine Arts. Berry said she has always been put in the position to teach others before she knew later down the line it would be apart of career. Currently she teaches Writing and Reporting across media, Digital News Reporting, and a Topics class for the Mass Communications department at Lincoln University. Last but not least the Mass Communication department would like to introduce Professor Christopher Owens who study Political Science during his undergraduate career at Millersville University. Owens continue his studies at Villanova for his masters in Communications Studies where he became interested in topics regarding political media and public relations. Owens adjunct last year for the communications department at Lincoln where he enjoyed it so much he gained the opportunity to come back a full time professor. Owens teaches Mass Media in Society and Digital Strategy where he enjoys advising the class of 2020. When asked “Why Lincoln?” Owens believes that he was lucky for gaining the opportunity to become a full time professor.
