Mass Comm Week 2017 Recap

By Tasha Saint-Louis The week of March 20th to March 24th was the 4th Annual Mass Communications Week at Lincoln University’s Mass Communications Department. Filled with events and networking opportunities, students were able to come together and experience the many avenues they can take with a Mass Communications degree. The eventful week opened Monday with an inside look into the major on its first day. There was a ‘Mass Comm Minors Fair’ that allowed students interested in minoring in Mass Communications to gather intel and information about how to do so. Following the fair, there was a gathering hosted by Dr. Nicole Files-Thompson, Interim Chair of the department, held for all current and prospective Mass Communications students to discuss changes in the program and the requirement...

Just a quick heads up of who is coming to Lincoln for Mass Comm week. The following bios are in chronological order of who are guest speakers are! Use this as your saving grace to educate yourself before attending these events. Ron Martin  Ron Martin has been vital member of the News 8 team since 1983. He rose through the ranks to become its main weeknight news anchor in 2000, now anchoring News 8 at 5, the Emmy award winning News 8 at 6, News 8 at 10 on This TV, WGAL 8.2, and News 8 at 11. Ron is a York native who began his career in broadcast journalism as a desk assistant at NBC News in Washington, DC. After graduating from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, he returned home to the Susquehanna Valley to work as a reporter and news announcer ...
