NEW ACTING PRESIDENT PENS LETTER TO LINCOLN COMMUNITY

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.--Newly appointed Acting President, Valerie Harrison, released a letter to The Lincoln University community yesterday, after the resignation of former president, Robert R. Jennings. In her letter published on the University's blog, cubstolions.com, Harrison expressed her "uncompromising commitment to the University, and to advancing its great legacy." UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT RESIGNS AFTER MAKING HEADLINES WITH REMARKS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.--Yesterday, The Lincoln University's 13th President, Robert R. Jennings, resigned after making national headlines for his remarks regarding false rape allegations during a September university convocation. Jennings' resignation was announced via email to the University's constituents, with a letter from the university's board of trustees chairwoman, Kimberly Lloyd. Lloyd's letter stated: "This morning, the Lincoln University Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of President Dr. Robert R. Trustee Board Meeting: Not what people expected

By Asia Renee and Lorel Durant Friday's meeting of Lincoln University's Board of Trustees left many members of the campus community feeling frustrated. The meeting, which was held in the board room of the International Cultural Center, addressed a number of topics, including enrollment numbers, planning and development, education policies and several other issues. While the meeting addressed or highlighted several issues in detail -- notably the formal recognition of Lincoln's new nursing program, which will begin in the Fall -- the board and President Robert Jennings did not give significant time to address the primary reason the room was overflowed with more than 100 people. Board of Trustees Meeting Addresses Campus Concerns

 By Khendall Beale    This past Saturday, 20 trustee members and a group of over 20 students, alumni, and faculty members packed the state-of-the-art board room in the International Cultural Center, to discuss contemporaneous campus issues.    Some among the topics that were discussed at the meeting were middle states accreditation, Langston Hughes Memorial Library, and the budget.   President Ivory V. Nelson, PhD., explained the different measures that the university has taken to ensure that the standards of assessment are above average for the middle states commissioners.
