Dave Chappelle makes his return to television with a three-part Netflix takeover set to premiere March 23.
Early last week, Netflix dropped a 27-second trailer announcing two Chappelle specials and one event.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the two specials are the Age of Spin which was shot in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium in March 2016 and Deep in the Heart of Texas which was shot in April 2015.
This project partnered with world’s best streaming service marks the famed comedian’s first television standup in 13 years.
In a press release last November, Netflix announced Chappelle will be delivering “three all-new stand-up specials” to their platform.
“Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential,” Netflix’s Vice President of Original Documentary and Comedy Lisa Nishimura said in the press release. “Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix.”
