The Lincoln University women’s soccer team coached by Emmanuel Awotula assisted by Mario Bono and Terrence Davis are back in full swing for the 2017 season. Coach “E” is now entering his second year as head coach and with his squad they look to pick up where they left off last year finishing up the season strong. The Lions are lead by Jr. Kayla Butts who in her last outing recorded her first collegiate hat trick. The Lions have a pretty competitive schedule and look to try and compete and make a run at the tournament. The Lions are 2-3 so far on the season defeating Washington Adventist University and Hollins University. The Lions will be on the road for their next outing taking on Penn State- Brandywine.

The LU cross county team is lead by Head Coach Quanetta Ford. A successful track runner in college herself she looks to lead the both men and women squad to another successful season. The cross county teams usually go up some pretty steep competition and will look to bounce back next week at the Delaware Invitational. The women’s team who so far has finished 5th and 9th place look to do much better next invitational looking to land in one of the top spots bringing back home some positive news. On the men’s side they look to do much better as well, coming in 4th and 7th place in their last two competitions. The men will also will compete in the Delaware invitational as well.
The Lions football team is one of the biggest teams to watch this year in their upcoming season. Lead by new head coach Reginald Byarse Jr and SR. wide receiver Andre Price the Lions are looking to bring back that passion and intense type of football the Lions have been missing. The Lions opened up their season against there HBCU rivals Cheyney University loosing a highly anticipated match up. The Lions are heading into week 3, looking to looking to get into the win column hoping to get back on track. Coach Byarse has provided a new mentality this year and looking to hopefully turn over a new leaf this season and hopoing that the Lions can get back to the level they were.
The 2017 women’s volleyball team will be opening their season this week in Baltimore taking on Notre Dame of Maryland University looking to bounce back after coming off of a tough loosing season last year. The Lions hope opener will take place on September 19 hosting their rivals Cheyney University. The Lions will look a little different this year with some new faces and a new head coach. Head Coach Jill Freese will be stepping in as the new head coach for the women’s volleyball team looking to bring a new outlook on the women’s volleyball team. The Lions tip off Tuesday at Notre Dame of Maryland.
