Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the most controversial candidates to run for the U.S. Presidency.
The Huffington Post describes Donald Trump as Racist. While The Political Insider describes Hillary as a Liar. According to BALLOTPEDIA, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the most popular U.S presidential candidates. Could a racist be best for a this multi-curtural nation? Or could a liar whose speeches will always leave you skeptical of her true intentions?
Throughout his presidential campaign, Trump has failed to denounce the support of the KKK. Blaming the “bad television” for his inability to detached himself from the white supremacist group.
Meanwhile, Clinton took a different approach to prove that she is better alternative than Trump. Clinton took to the stage of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to do a poplar with a young black male. By Clinton participating in a popular dance on the Ellen show, she is using an alternative platform to broadcast and promote her political agenda.
However, recently a video surfaced that could derail minority voters in favor of Clinton. The video taken in 1996, shows Hillary Clinton speaking in favor of the 1994 Crime Bill. Clinton stated that first Blacks must be “first” brought to “heel,” and further describing young African Americans as “super predators.”
Furthermore on Trump’s racist notions, He received large amounts of controversy for calling Mexicans “rapists.” A bold statement considering that the Hispanic population is “the nation’s largest ethnic or racial minority.” Additionally, he claimed he did not regret making the statement, and he further called Middle Easterners terrorists. If his assertions support his slogan to “Make America Great Again,” in turn individuals who are not of the same race as Trump have to worry about their acceptance in the US.
In addition, Clinton was being criticized for the severity of the content in her leaked emails. A YouTube Channel titled GOP War Room, revealed Clinton first said she never emailed “any classified material to anyone,” “nor received anything classified.” In contradiction to Clinton’s declarations, FBI Director Comey claimed there was “classified material email.”
In contrast, Trump used Clinton’s email scandal to show is patriotism to the American people. Trump claims he embodies undefeatable patriotism for the United States, however, he bashed the family of a late U.S Army Captain who was Muslim. Additionally, in an era where the globe is faced with Global Warming, Donald Trump who wants to “Make America Great Again,” claims he does not “Believe in Climate Change.”
Donald Trump, who according to Forbes is worth $3.7Billion won the Republican nomination, and is the Republican Nominee. Trumps running mate is Mike Pence, who is the 50th governor of Indiana. Trump acquired most of his wealth from Real Estate, and has been involved in the entertainment industry through starring in TV shows and movies.
Clinton is the Democratic Presidential candidate. She was the 67th U.S. secretary of State in the time frame 2009 – 2013. She is “the first woman in U.S. history to become the presidential nominee of a major political party”, according to biography.com. Hillary Clinton was also the First Lady of the United States in the time periods of 1993 to 2001. Clinton’s running mate is Tim Kaine.
Trump and Clinton’s popularity is unmatched by other candidates. Currently Hillary Clinton is leading the polls. According to CNN, “The poll shows Clinton with 50% support to Trump’s 38%, with 5% backing Libertarian Gary Johnson and 2% supporting the Green Party’s Jill Stein.” Americans if you choose to vote, be careful, votes are valuable.
