Ron Martin has been vital member of the News 8 team since 1983. He rose through the ranks to become its main weeknight news anchor in 2000, now anchoring News 8 at 5, the Emmy award winning News 8 at 6, News 8 at 10 on This TV, WGAL 8.2, and News 8 at 11.
Ron is a York native who began his career in broadcast journalism as a desk assistant at NBC News in Washington, DC. After graduating from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, he returned home to the Susquehanna Valley to work as a reporter and news announcer at WSBA radio in York. Ron then moved into television at WHP-TV as a reporter before joining WGAL-TV and the News Center 8 team in 1983. Ron initially worked out of WGAL’s Harrisburg newsroom, covering daily news in the state capitol region. The following year, he returned to his hometown, where he was assigned to oversee coverage out of the newly opened York newsroom. In 1985, Ron was named weekend news anchor, and then, 2 years later, Ron was named a weeknight news anchor on WGAL..
Ron is a three-time Emmy award winner—among the many awards he’s received during his long career in broadcast journalism. He has also been honored for his many community service contributions in the south central Pennsylvania region. Ron has been recognized by the state of Pennsylvania and the cities of York and Harrisburg, the NAACP and the Black Ministeriums in York and Harrisburg, the Crispus Attucks Associations of York and Lancaster, the school districts of York and Harrisburg, the Lancaster Urban League, the Pilot Club of York, the African American Chamber of Commerce, the Emanuel Church of God in Christ in York, the Brightside Baptist Church in Lancaster, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and the Deborah Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, are some of the organizations that have honored Ron for his community contributions.
In 2002, Ron was inducted into the William Penn Senior High School Hall of Fame.
Ron and his wife Millie live in York and are the parents of 3 children. An avid golfer and tennis player, Ron is a past president of the York County Black Golfers Association, an organization dedicated to youth mentoring and scholarship programs. He also has memberships in the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Harrisburg, Pa., Social Friendship Lodge #42 Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall affiliate, York Pa., and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Cherri Gregg is the community affairs reporter for KYW Newsradio 1060.
She reports on a variety of public affairs and social justice related issues, producing news reports, podcasts and other materials for KYW Radio, CBS-3 TV and CBSPhilly.com.
But Cherri is a rarity within the world of journalism-she is also a licensed attorney. She puts her law degree to work, providing analysis and extensive coverage on many highly publicized community legal issues. Cherri spent months covering the implementation of Pennsylvania’s voter ID law, filing reports for both KYW Newsradio and CBS 3 Eyewitness News. She’s reported on the US Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act, same sex marriage, immigration reform, juvenile justice, criminal justice reforms and other community issues. In 2013, Cherri traveled to Washington, DC to cover the second historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, filing live reports from the steps of the US Capitol.
As an award-winning journalist, one of Cherri’s missions is to highlight diverse perspectives, positive people and cultural events in the greater Philadelphia area. In 2013, she launched an original 10-day Black History Month series for KYW Newsradio, titled, “Philadelphia GameChangers.” The series highlighted individuals and organizations making a positive impact in the African-American Community.
Cherri has a B.S. from Boston University, a J.D. from Howard University School of Law and a M.J. from Temple University’s College of Communications and Theater. She is president of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Georgia Bars.
Cherri was named on of The Philadelphia Tribune’s Most Influential Leaders in 2015, on of the Philadelphia NAACP’s Most Influential Black Women and PABJ’s Journalist of the Year in 2013.
Cherri believes in living with passion and is frequently asked to moderate and speak on panels, MC events and give speeches on how to put one’s dreams into action.
Victoria Neidigh is well-known for her comprehensive experience in strategy, sales, marketing, product management and interactive media planning which encompasses general operations as well as healthcare information and technology.
Since 2013, Neidigh has served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Comcast NBCUniversal. In this role, Neidigh’s primary focus is health, education, diversity and policy for employees and consumers at large.
Prior to this role, Neidigh served as Vice President of Health and Wellness at General Electric and NBCUniversal. In this role, Neidigh supported the GE Healthy imagination platform, which led the GE Heath and Wellness initiative as a driver of customer business objectives at NBCUniversal. From 2002 to 2008, Neidigh served as the National Manager of Clinical Data Services at GE Healthcare. In this role, she worked as a business leader for Clinical Data Services by facilitating six sigma workout and core business reviews. Neidigh has also served as Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Medscape. In this role she was responsible for the business model, management, integration and media planning for Medscape and CBS Health watch strategic partners.
In addition, Victoria services as a volunteer home care hospice nurse.
Quincy Harris joined the FOX 29 news team in May 2014, as an entertainment correspondent for “Good Day Philadelphia.” Over time, his role has grown, and “Q Deezy” is a regular member of the Good Day team, reporting daily from remote locations in our viewing area.
Prior to joining FOX 29, Quincy was in the forefront of radio entertainment for more than fifteen years. From coast to coast, he held on-air personality positions at Power 99 FM’s “The Come Up Show” and Power 106 FM’s “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.”
For three years, Quincy was the host of his own show on Hot 107.9 Philly. “The Q Deezy Show” brought forth compelling interviews and topics regarding pop and urban culture.
He produced and acted in his own film, “Exit Strategy,” in 2012, and he hopes to produce more films in the future.
Quincy received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Broadcasting Communications and Mass Media) from Temple University.
In his free time, Quincy is involved with the Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown and participates in a series called “Salem Salon,” where he serves as a mentoring voice to youth, speaking about the tough issues facing them today.
A Philadelphia native, Quincy now lives in Montgomery County, PA, where he enjoys working out and spending time with his wife and two sons.
Mia Jackson is a bonafide Georgia peach (that’s Georgian for “native”) and a self proclaimed know-it-all, and always wondered what would happen if she took her sense of humor to the stage. That’s exactly what she did! After graduating from the University of Georgia she hit the local comedy scene and has thrilled audiences since day one. To her credit she has appeared on Oxygen, TLC, Nick Mom’s Night Out and was recently a featured semi-finalist on Season 9 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2015.
Mia is a diverse comedian with an outspoken voice and unique perspective. Her energetic conversational style leaves the audience as if they have known her forever. Smart, funny, and versatile, Mia entertains all types of crowds – from alt comedy clubs to collegiate campuses to the metropolitan main stage.
