It’s a bird, it’s a Plane, No, it’s Jeremy Lin shooting a 3-pointer.

Basketball lovers across the globe have been fascinated with the newest addition to the New York Knicks team, Jeremy Lin.

The second-year point guard Jeremy Lin has won six games and has led the Knicks to  seven straight wins.  Lin, whose birth name is Gie-Ming Lin, was born on Aug 23, 1988 in Palo Alto, CA.

Now 23-years-old, Lin has been seeking attention in this career field for years now with one year of experience under his belt. Hailing from Harvard University, Lin remained undrafted straight out of college and is known as the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent.

Harvard University basketball coach Tommy Amaker admitted to ESPN men’s basketball that “Jeremy has been one of the better players in the country for a while now. He’s as consistent as anyone in the game. People who haven’t seen him are wowed by what they see, but we aren’t. What you see is who he is.”

The 6’3 point guard weighing in at 200lbs has brought attention with his faith, excellent performance and passion for the game.

“The way you talk to your teammates and push them and the way you treat them is important” said Lin while attending Harvard University. “There is a fine line between trying to help your teammates and criticizing them. The toughest part for me is how to keep my teammates accountable but at the same time do it in a loving way that doesn’t judge or condemn them. It’s definitely been a struggle.

Before shining on the Knicks team, Lin was cut by two teams, the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.

Now that Jeremy Lin has showed his skills on the court he has to embrace a new team and new member such as Carmelo Anthony. Some people speculate problems and some think that the Knicks will do just fine.

“I’ve been hearing reports, ‘can Jeremy coexist with Melo?’ and everything like that,” Lin said on WFAN in an interview with  Sports Radio Interviews. “I’m just confused because he was the one who vouched for me in the first place (by asking Coach Mike D’Antoni to put him on the floor). So, we want to play together and want to work together and are buying into that. Some people call Melo selfish and (say) he doesn’t buy into the team. That’s just tough for anyone to hear, especially when we don’t think it’s true.”

Jeremy Lin has become the head attraction of the New York Knicks and has gain faithful fans throughout the world.  The Knicks next game is Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 against the Miami Heat.
