  Lincoln University Partners with Renowned Museum to Fund Endowment for Undergraduate Research  Art enthusiasts and supporters of higher education are invited to attend an evening at the Barnes Foundation to support Lincoln University’s Endowed Undergraduate Student Research Scholarship Fund. The Endowed Undergraduate Student Research Scholarship Fund was established in partnership with Lincoln’s Class of 1970 to support the work of select undergraduate students from their chosen discipline who undertake scholarly projects. As students we always like to say “our voices aren’t heard” or “our opinions don’t matter”. However what if that’s not the case. What if there actually was a way but yet often seems to go unnoticed? A printed publication consisting of folded unstapled sheets containing news, articles, advertisements and correspondence, or in other words, the newspaper is something that students would never give the time of day. I believe students don’t pay much attention to the student newspapers because they don’t know the importance/value of the paper. Student newspapers often become unsuccessful because budget cuts/funding and even the lack of students reading it. Hurricane Harvey Dives In

By Friday evening on August 25th Hurricane Harvey had made landfall, making this the first Category 4 Hurricane, that ended a twelve-year record. There had not been a Hurricane that had made landfall with such intensity since 2005 with Hurricane Wilma. Harvey became one of the wettest tropical cyclones in the history of the United States. By September 1st, one-third of Houston was underwater. Within 24 hours there had been two feet of rain that had fallen and accumulated. In many areas, there was more than 40 inches of rain accumulated that caused a lot of flooding. All of this water forced approximately 39,000 people out of their homes and into nearby shelters. SPORTS SECTIONS (Fall Edition) Women’s Soccer: The Lincoln University women’s soccer team coached by Emmanuel Awotula assisted by Mario Bono and Terrence Davis are back in full swing for the 2017 season. Coach “E” is now entering his second year as head coach and with his squad they look to pick up where they left off last year finishing up the season strong. The Lions are lead by Jr. Kayla Butts who in her last outing recorded her first collegiate hat trick. The Lions have a pretty competitive schedule and look to try and compete and make a run at the tournament. The Lions are 2-3 so far on the season defeating Washington Adventist University and Hollins University. The Lions will be on the road for their next outing taking on Penn State- Brandywine.
